"She who flows" Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom and language. Traditionally presented seated on a lotus, accompanied by a swan and holding a Venna (lute) resting across her breast. She is worshipped by the wise, in the months of February and March over parts of India.
Milla Eastwood (b. 1990, London) engages in the irrational unconsciousness as well as the rational conscious activity of painting. She believes that emotional changes show their nature by changes of colour, not just what’s on the surface. Exploring the activity of mans energy and emotional activity; her aim is to generate spirit in her work. Her abstract compositions, floating forms and recurring motifs have a more suggestive relation to drawing. This is what makes the works immediate: they communicate the experience of the artist to the viewer. She lives and works in London.
